Grand Rapids continues to present itself not only as one of the most vibrant communities in the state of Michigan to live in but in the entire country. Is a Housing Shortage Possible?

The beauty of downtown Grand Rapids is the collection of historical and newer buildings. It's not pushing over it's past to make way for the flavor of the month condos. That's not needed in Grand Rapids.

With housing limited in downtown, young professionals are buying up homes in local communities with short commutes to work, entertainment and the Grand Rapids nightlife that continues on through the colder winter months (when you live in Michigan, you embrace the snow and cold, it just makes the spring and summer that much sweeter).

In recent years there has been an increased influx of professionals moving into the Grand Rapids metro area from not just the rest of the state but from all corners of the globe. As a leader in healthcare and hospitality, professionals in these industries have flocked to the city. During the economic downturn, properties were bought quickly around Grand Rapids. This was especially the case because Grand Rapids was not hit as hard as the east side of the state (such as Detroit metro). In fact, while the state of Michigan saw a reduction in population, Grand Rapids was and continues to be, one of the fastest growing communities in the state.
